The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection
On February 13, 2009, The Heart Truth will return to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for its annual Red Dress Collection fashion show. The campaign's groundbreaking partnership with the fashion industry continues as top designers and celebrities unite on one runway to debut the seventh collection of red dresses created to raise awareness about heart disease the #1 killer of women.
Created in 2002 by The Heart Truth—a program of the Federal Government's National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute—the Red Dress was launched as the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness at New York's Fashion Week in February 2003 in partnership with American's top fashion designers. Each February since its launch, the Red Dress symbol has come to life on the runway with the annual Red Dress Collection Fashion Show.
